Life without my father...

14th June 2014 was the saddest day in my life. It is the day when I lost my father, the eldest member in our family at his age 77. Quite normal till he went to bed on 13th night and got chest pain at midnight 1am. I took him to near by hospital at Puttur, but before we reach hospital, he breathed his last. Just before he was going to bed, gave me fried cashew nuts to be handover to Swaksha, my elder son(pulli). Exactly 1 year before he had 2 mild strokes, and he was treated for it about a week at hospital. Quite often when I go to sleep, this incident gets recalled and I get frightened. 14th June 2014, it was raining heavy and I was driving the car at midnight with only 30% visibility on the roads.  A dedicated hard working and  simple father whom I miss every day now.   

Hunting the Truth...

One of the rare tasty fruit in our farm

This comes to our farm every year in the month of March/April.
Having this tasty- juicy- sweet fruit during the summer is a thrilling experience. Children like it more and may go overdose!!!
Parents do not forget to advice not to eat more. I do not know the reasons yet!  Every time I visit this plant, my memory goes back to my school days. I used to study and prepare for my exams sitting in this same tree. If not this fruit, no one ever show the guts even to touch this tree because of its big thorns (nail). By the way, I do not know the scientific name, but we have a sweeter name for the sweet fruit "Chaplunka" !!!       

Mercury starts swinging in both way !!

This  Wednesday ( 13th Nov 2012), Mangalore recorded 19 degree C.
This is the 3rd  lowest reading, in the month November, since a decade.
Interestingly, same day it also read 33.6 degree as its highest temperature !!
This is the highest reading for the month November since 1960, as per Dept Met !!!
A clear sign of climate change.

This is the very traditional way to organize an festival unlike the rest.
No (hybrid) market flowers, no packed processed, flavored sweets!
Have a closer look at the "Modaka" on the special wooden dish.
It is the most favorite sweet, of lord Ganesha and his brother "Subramanya" as well !!!      

The colours around me...

The 1st and 2nd at my home in Mangalore, while 3rd, 4th at my native B'mugaru.
Exited...without knowing from where does these colours came from???

April 14th "Vishu" is the new year for all south Indians.
This new year is not only for the people, but also for the nature around us.
As you can see a tree about 100 years old in my house decorating with all new leafs,
by removing the old one. 1st snap captured exactly 7 days before the 2nd snap..!!
